Millennium Trust was established in 2010 as a South African non-profit organisation with the aim of supporting the functioning of democracy and sustained economic growth in South Africa.
The trust supports organisations and projects that strengthen an independent media with an investigative journalism capacity, maintain a quality justice system and the rule of law, support sustained economic growth and basic socio-economic rights, build an effective public service and functioning democratic institutions, and provide quality basic education.
Instead of supporting charitable projects, Millennium Trust chooses to focus on bringing about change through development. It favours solutions with measurable impact that can be scaled up in a sustainable manner. Millennium Trust also celebrates South African excellence in a selection of domains.
